The project consists of a modernization of Naturdata, which will change its name to Artsdata. With this upgrade, the system will be more up-to-date, user-friendly and connected to the Great User Journey.
Artsdata will offer users the opportunity to search and filter data from both wet and dry nature, divided into data from VanDa for the wet nature, as well as Arter.dk and Danmarks Naturdatabase for the dry nature. In the long term, the system will replace Naturdata and therefore contains key functions, such as searching and filtering in species observations and nature surveys. There will be parallel operation of the two systems until the second phase of the project is completed in the autumn of 2025
In the first release, Artsdata will offer search and filtering in species in the wet nature in mid-May. Users will be able to access data from the VanDa database, which contains numerous observations of fish, benthic animals, plankton and plants. This part of the system will enable users to find and work with relevant data on wetlands and aquatic ecosystems.
In the second release, Artsdata will be expanded with a complete solution that also includes search and filtering in terrestrial data on plants and animals. This data is exhibited via arter.dk and Naturdatabasen and covers all of Denmark's dry nature. The full version of the system will make it possible to get an overall picture of finds of species and nature surveys in both wet and dry nature in Denmark.
Artsdata is part of The Great User Journey, which exists to create an intuitive and coherent experience for users. The system will be integrated with several of Danmarks Miljøportal, which allows users to search and work with data across a number of our systems. Read more about The Great User Journey here.
The project is aimed at a wide range of users, including public authorities (the state, municipalities, regions), research institutions, nature and environmental organizations, IT companies, consultants, utility companies and agriculture, who will be able to use Artsdata as a decision-support tool, as well as private citizens.
