Naturdatabasen by Danmarks Miljøportal is a digital tool that provides access to data from monitoring programs such as NOVANA and other nature registrations. The system allows users to create, search and share data about the state of nature, species, habitats and habitats. The platform is designed to support the work with management and protection of Denmark's natural resources and makes it easy to document, analyse and collaborate on nature conservation.

Naturdatabasen can be accessed as a web solution and app.

What is Naturdatabasen?

Naturdatabasen is a central platform where users can search for and update data on nature registrations collected by authorities and partners. The platform provides the opportunity to create new registrations, edit existing data and ensure the quality of the information through validation functions. It supports uploading spatial data and images and offers export options in formats such as Excel and GIS, making the data usable in external analyses and planning tools.

Data can be searched using advanced search functions that make it possible to filter by species, habitats, geographical areas and time periods. This ensures that users can quickly find exactly the information they need in their work.

How can Naturdatabasen help you?

For authorities
Naturdatabasen makes it easy for authorities to monitor and manage data on the state of nature and comply with regulatory requirements. Municipalities and other public bodies can use the system to update and visualise registrations of protected areas and habitat types, and for example use Naturdatabasen to update data on §3 areas and document their natural value as part of local planning.

For researchers and analysts
Researchers can benefit extensive dataset from Naturdatabasen for studies of biodiversity, nature changes and environmental impacts, and can, for example, use the platform to analyse changes in species distribution over time across different regions in Denmark.

For environmental organisations and consultants
Naturdatabasen supports the work of environmental organisations and consultants by providing up-to-date data that can be used in analyses and recommendations for nature management.
