KAMP is a tool for screening for climate-related risks such as flooding and high groundwater. It brings together national data to help environmental and planning staff in municipalities identify vulnerable areas and potential impacts on buildings and infrastructure.

What is KAMP?

KAMP is a web-based tool that combines climate, sea level and land use data to identify areas that may be affected by climate change, especially high groundwater and flooding. The tool provides access to up-to-date data on water levels, precipitation and climatic impacts, and it can be used to analyze which areas, buildings, and roads are potentially at risk of water impacts.

It also allows users to generate reports and export data for further analysis in their own GIS systems.

How can KAMP help you?

For municipalities and planners
Municipalities can use KAMP to identify vulnerable areas that are at risk of flooding or high groundwater. This helps them prioritize climate adaptation projects and plan infrastructure development in areas that require special attention. For example, a municipality can use KAMP to see how many buildings or roads are at risk of being affected by extreme rain or rising groundwater, and plan preventive measures.

For environmental consultants and advisors
Environmental consultants can use KAMP to advise on risks associated with construction and development in areas that are exposed to climatic influences such as flooding or high groundwater. This helps them assess the need for climate adaptation measures.
