Arealdata

Arealdata.dk by Danmarks Miljøportal contains over 1000 detailed data sets about Denmark nature and envorinment, such as soil types, protected natural areas and land use. This makes it easy for authorities, companies and farmers to access updated knowledge about environmental data, land management in Denmark and which environmental protection rules apply.

What is Arealdata? 

Arealdata is a system aimed at IT professional users. It aims to provide a comprehensive and detailed overview of all data that is (publicly) distributed by Danmarks Miljøportal. This means both data that Danmarks Miljøportal itself owns, as well as data that is distributed on behalf of others. These include the Danish Climate Data Agency (Klimadatastyrelsen), municipalities, regions, and the state and universities.  

Arealdata allows you to find all data sets as well as various options for file extraction and service calls. These include various formats such as WMS, WFS, WMTS, and file extraction, as well as specific GIS formats for some files (SHAPE, TAB, GDB) 

Arealdata also exhibits documentation for these in the form of properties, attributes and examples.  

Arealdata is a system for IT professional users. The system retrieves data from reliable sources such as municipal planning systems and state environmental databases, and provides up-to-date, detailed information on areas such as agriculture, forestry, urban development, and natural areas. 

How can Arealdata help you? 

Area data for IT professionals
As an IT professional, you may need to automatically and easily be able to call different data sets. This is possible through Arealdata that provides services (WMS, WFS, WMTS). 

Arealdata for GIS professionals
Arealdata allows people to use service connection directly.  

Arealdata consists of both a data bank and the user interface Arealdata.dk. Arealdata gathers all Danmarks Miljøportal's data in one unified databank for distribution to the professional user via Arealdata.dk or directly via the databank.
